Mount Street Upper is the site of Saint Stephen’s Church (see picture), designed by Architect John Bowden. The church creates a centrepiece on Mount Street Upper, east of Aimsir Psychotherapy. It is fondly known as the ‘Pepper Cannister’ Church and was built in 1820-24, a Greek Revival temple-style church.

Aimsir Psychotherapy is based in 24 Mount Street Upper, Dublin 2. Number 24 was completed in 1825, as a late Georgian row house. It is believed there was a mound at the adjacent Fitzwilliam Street and Baggot Street where a gallows was erected for the execution of criminals. This is where the name Mount Street derives from.
